CA Gov. Newsom Hides Key Covid Data Used to Justify Endless Lockdowns, ‘Too Complex and Would Confuse the Public’

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is hiding key Covid data used to justify his endless lockdowns.

Newsom said the data is just too complex and would confuse and potentially mislead the public.

Gavin Newsom first locked down California in March of 2020 and he refuses to let go of his newfound power.

Small businesses have been destroyed and churches that have remained opened have been targeted by Newsom’s goons.

In December Newsom introduced regional stay-at-home orders which is triggered when ICU capacity falls below 15%.

However, Newsom is actually hiding key Covid information which is driving his policy decisions despite previously promising transparency.

Newsom this week opened up a Sacramento-area region even though its ICU capacity is below 9% — Other regions with the same ICU capacity however are still closed.

“What happened to the 15%? What was that all about?” asked Dr. George Rutherford, an epidemiologist and infectious-diseases control expert at University of California, San Francisco. “I was surprised. I assume they know something I don’t know.”

KTVU reported:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has from the start said his coronavirus policy decisions would be driven by data shared with the public to provide maximum transparency.

But with the state starting to emerge from its worst surge, his administration won’t disclose key information that will help determine when his latest stay-at-home order is lifted.

State health officials said they rely on a very complex set of measurements that would confuse and potentially mislead the public if they were made public.

“The state is wielding extraordinary power these days — power to close businesses, to directly impact people’s livelihoods and even lives — and so it owes it to Californians to disclose how and why it makes those decisions,” said Snyder, whose California public interest organization fights for greater government openness.

“Secrecy,” he said, “is exactly the wrong approach here and will only breed further mistrust, confusion and contempt for the crucial role of government in bringing us out of this crisis.”

Report: More Than 50,000 Italian Restaurants Defy Lockdown

Over the weekend, more than 50,000 restaurants in Italy defied the country’s lockdown measures due to CONvid.  The owners were displaying a massive act of civil disobedience that is sure to encourage others to do the same.

According to Off Guardian:

Today – Friday 15th January – over 50,000 restaurants are planning to open, an act of mass civil disobedience against “anti-Covid” lockdown measures which have massively hurt the restaurant business, especially small family-owned businesses.

Spreading through social media under the hashtag #IoOpro (“I am opening”), the movement is largest country-wide act of civil disobedience since lockdowns began.

Italain opposition MP Vittorio Sgarbi has backed the movement, saying in an interview:

Open up, & don’t worry, in the end we will make them eat their fines”.

Italy’s government is already facing internal conflict and crisis, an early election is a possibility.

The “I am Open” protest is spreading across Europe as well, with variants already taking hold in German-speaking Switzerland (#Wirmachenauf) and Poland (#OtwieraMY).

It’s good to be reminded that, no matter how much it looks like the new normal is spreading unopposed, it’s not. People all over the world are resisting where they can. That’s what “Covid Positive” is all about.

To follow the progress of this movement we recommended following Robin Monotti and the It’s Time to Rise accounts on twitter and other platforms.

That’s not all.

On January 12, 2021, a similar movement began in Mexico.

Amen!  This is what I said needed to occur nearly a year ago.  Businesses and the people band together and reopen and go and live their lives in defiance of the tyrants, and then look to remove them from office and charge them with crimes to bring justice against them.

UK Home Secretary Encourages Neighbors To Snitch On Each Other For Breaking COVID Rules

UK Home Secretary Priti Patel has encouraged neighbors to snitch on each other to police if they see others violating COVID rules over the Christmas period.

“Any individual that saw any laws being broken would take that upon themselves,” Patel told BBC Breakfast.

“If I saw somebody flouting coronavirus regulations and the laws, of course I would look to inform the police about that.”

She went on to add that both individuals and groups of people would continue to be targeted by police.

“The police will continue to enforce against people, individuals, egregious breaches that effectively risk spreading the virus…Nothing has changed on that and it’s absolutely right that the police continue to do that,” said Patel.

This is not the first time that British citizens have been encouraged to spy on each other’s behavior and grass up wrongdoers to the authorities.

Policing Minister Kit Malthouse said anyone who saw behavior they believed to be in violation of the rules should contact the police, leading to charges that Malthouse was inciting Stasi-like behavior.

As we previously highlighted, a veteran in Wales was hit with a £1,000 after playing football with his own sons in the park, presumably after having been reported to authorities by an onlooker.

While Patel continues to insist that citizens should follow the rules and report those who don’t, a member of her own party, MP Tobias Ellwood, was forced to apologize after attending a Christmas party in London for 27 guests.

Ellwood attended the event a day after saying people meeting over Christmas “could be very dangerous indeed” and cause a third wave of the virus.

Mexico’s President Says COVID Lockdowns Are ‘Dictatorship’

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has described coronavirus lockdowns as “dictatorship” during a recent press conference with reporters.

He described such lockdown measures as “fashionable among authorities … who want to show they are heavy handed, dictatorship”, according a report by the Associated Press.

He went on to claim that the advocates of such measures have “authoritarian instincts” and do not respect the freedom of the Mexican people.

“A lot of them are letting their authoritarian instincts show,” he stated. “The fundamental thing is to guarantee liberty.”

López Obrador has strongly resisted efforts to introduce lockdowns and curfews in Mexico, despite the popularity of such measures in other Latin American countries. However, just as in the United States and Brazil, many state and local officials have defied the President and introduced various restrictions at lower levels of government.

For example, the third most populous state in Mexico, Jalisco, currently governed by the opposition left-liberal Citizens’ Movement, has introduced a mask mandate in all public areas. Other states have gone further still, introducing stay-at-home orders and shutting non-essential businesses. Even states governed by conservative politicians, such as Puebla, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, have adopted strict lockdown restrictions.

During the press conference, López Obrador also spoke out against mask mandates, expressing his belief that wearing a mask should be voluntary.

“Everyone is free,” López Obrador added. “Whoever wants to wear a face mask and feel safer is welcome to do so.”

The Mexican federal government under López Obrador has taken a skeptical attitude towards both the mass use of face masks and mass testing of the population for COVID-19.

Although a hard-leftist, López Obrador has been a prominent skeptic of excessive government power over the course of this pandemic. He also declined to congratulate Joe Biden for over 5 weeks after the November election, citing his own struggles with electoral fraud in the 2006 Mexican presidential election. That election was widely speculated to have been rigged in favor of López Obrador’s opponent, center-right candidate Felipe Calderón. López Obrador has compared his treatment by the media during that period to the treatment of President Trump over the last month.

The Globe and Mail reports:

Mr. Lopez Obrador, who is known as AMLO, questioned how media outlets could “censor” the U.S. President by cutting away from his untested claims of electoral fraud.

“In Mexico, we’re accustomed to how they used to censor us,” he said in a morning press conference on Nov. 9. “But in the case of the United States, what happened is something special.”

By contrast, the American left has denounced any suggestion of fraud in the 2020 U.S. elections, and has wholly embraced lockdown restrictions. Their dogged loyalty to the U.S. establishment has not been rewarded, with Biden downplaying prospects of far-left Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) being given a Cabinet post.

Nashville Police Criminally Charge Three Women For Hosting Football House Party in Violation of Covid Order

Nashville police criminally charged three women for hosting a football house party.

Roommates Madilyn Dennington, Bailey Mills and Olivia Noe, all 23 years old, were issued misdemeanor citations for hosting a Halloween football watch party at their home.

According to the affidavit, more than 100 people were at the party.

Police arrived to the Nashville home and told the women that gatherings of more than 25 people were prohibited unless approved by the city.

The women listened to the police and told everyone to leave the party but they still got arrested and charged.

The Tennessean reported:

Nashville police are criminally charging three women including a registered nurse for violating Metro Health orders after hosting a large house party on Halloween.

Roommates Madilyn Dennington, Bailey Mills and Olivia Noe, all 23, were issued misdemeanor citations in connection with an Oct. 31 football watch party at their East Nashville home on the 1200 block of Boscobel Street south of Fatherland Street.

Police spokesman Don Aaron said the women were served with court summonses on Monday and are slated to appear on the charges Dec. 16.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers responded about 6:30 p.m. to a complaint about a loud party at the home, heard music blaring and saw several people in the yard. In all, police said they found more than 100 people inside and outside the home.

When officers spoke to Dennington, Mills and Noe outside, they told police they had organized a watch party at their home for a football game, the affidavit states. The officers told the women that at that time, no more than 25 people were permitted to gather in Davidson County unless the gathering was approved by the city.

The women then went inside and told everyone to leave, police reported.
