Education for Destruction

A book written by patriot whistleblower Dr. B.R. Burchett and self published in Philadelphia, PA in 1941. She gives us a first hand look at her battle with the beginnings of collectivism and the communization of American schools, removing God from school, and other agendas carried out by infiltrators of our education system. Dr. Burchett was former Head of Department of Latin in the Philadelphia public school system.

The promotional flyer for Dr. Burchett’s book read as follows:

Arresting… Disturbing…

  • HOW does the small Sovieteer minority control loyal teachers in our schools and colleges?
  • HOW are anti-American, anti-religious, anti-Christ textbooks forced upon teachers and students?
  • WHY are Washington and Jefferson ridiculed, while Marx and Lenin are canonized in the schools?
  • WHY are boys and girls of 13 taught free love, sexual promiscuity, and other degrading subjects?

The answers to these and other dismaying questions are all found in Education for Destruction.

[A]n eyewitness account by Dr. B.R. Burchett, former Head of Department of Latin in the Philadelphia public school system. It is a fearless and devastating exposé of Communism in America’s schools, its concealed objectives, hidden motives, serpent-like power, and its vicious demoralization of children and adolescents. EVERY parent… EVERY educator… EVERY clergyman should read this book! [emphasis in original]

Here’s some of the shocking revelations beginning with an eye opening Convention in February 1935 of the Department of Superintendence of the National Education Association in Atlantic City, NJ.

Revelations made in 'Education for Destruction'

Dr. Jesse H. Newlon of Teachers College, Columbia, talked about “the sure trend toward collectivism.” He informed us that “only through some form of collective control of the highly integrated economy of the modern world can democracy be realized. The trend towards collectivism is an inevitable conditioning factor, not a choice.”…

A Speaker from the floor declared with fervor that “we control the schools, and public schools are the best avenues of propaganda in the country because practically everyone goes to public school.” Much profanity flew around the room, and some sneers at religion as upholding the “status quo.” Finally, the name of our Lord was used so blasphemously that I felt morally bound to protest. I have protesting ever since.

We find some books advocating absolute freedom of sexual intercourse, with no such thing as marriage, the children of these unions to be cared for by the state. Not only would the father not know his own children, but the mother would not.

Since the ultimate goal of Communism is a world state, it naturally follows that to a communist patriotism instead of being a virtue id a vice. It is easy to understand, therefore, why our Communist controlled schools have refused to foster patriotism.

In my possession is a North American Newspaper Alliance Release by George Sokolsky announcing his arrival to this country. So far as I know, this was not published. It is as follows:

Never Underestimate the Enemy. “It is important to note here that for the first time since the Communist party existed in the United States, it has an able organizer as Secretary. Earl Browder was for a period in China and I had ample opportunities to observe his work there. Under the most trying circumstances, he managed to hold together, and even increase, the strength of an illegal Party whose language he could not speak. Browder is now rebuilding the Communist Party in the United States and he shows mor ability than the noisy agitators on usually associates with the Reds. Everywhere I found evidence of Browder’s organizing capacity.”

Lenin, according to a pamphlet said, “Communism will come to America. The process will be bloody, slow, cruel… But what matters the destruction of 95 percent of the population by executions, if thereby is established the communist state!” To “liquidate” 95 percent of us is rather an ambitious program. To accomplish half of it would be rather drastic.

…at a conference of the Federal Council of Churches about a year ago in Philadelphia some of the speakers said that the barrier which made us unwilling to unite with other nations was our high standard of living; that this standard must be reduced to that of other nations; that our people must be taught (i.e. compelled?) to sacrifice.

We must consider the scheme from another angle: The Streit leaflet informs us that this is “A practical first step toward democratic world government” – we thought so! It is but bait to lure us into the trap of world communism.

Considerable space is devoted to Thomas Paine, the atheist. Karl Marx gets much favorable attention. The recognition of Soviet Russia meets with approval.

The “ideals” are proper production and distribution and world peace. These blessings we are told, can come only through abolition of private property and elimination of all national lines . “Some central authority can lay down and enforce the guiding lines of policy . . . it decides what part of the income of the world society shall go to the expansion . . . of its production, and what part shall go to consumption . . A planned economy… involves absolute control over… consumers’ income potential output.” Here indeed, is a dictatorship od fabulous proportions. We are not given any recipe by which to ensure that this “central authority” shall not enjoy for itself an undue share of the goods produced, nor that the producers shall rest satisfied with the absolute decisions of its authority.

All this fails to answer the question as to why there are over thirty-five books on the senior guide sheet which are violently in favor of communism and not a single one against it or favorable to our Constitutional Republican form of government?

This book contains many more illustrations, examples, quotes, and other first-hand accounts witnessed by Dr. Bessie Burchett in her battle to defeat the communizaton of public schools. You can read or skim through an online PDF of the book HERE.

1619 Project

The “1619 Project” was founded by New York Times columnist Nikole Hannah-Jones and launched in August 2019 with a 100-page spread in the Times’s Sunday magazine. It intends to “reframe the country’s history” exclusively around slavery and racism by crossing out 1776 as America’s founding date and substituting 1619, chosen to mark the 400th anniversary of the arrival in Virginia of 20 or so indentured servants (not slaves, the Times’ fake history notwithstanding) from Africa who had been kidnapped by Imbangala warlords in modern-day Angola. Once in Virginia, they joined indentured servants from Europe brought over by the Virginia Company. The Times’ makes no reference to these facts, falsely referring to the Africans as “slaves.” The project has been celebrated up and down by the liberal establishment (Marxists, politicians, activists, and journalists), praised by Sen. Kamala Harris and Mayor Pete Buttigieg, but consistent criticism from historians.

The Times also makes no reference to the fact that one of America’s first military engagements as a new nation was to battle African slave catchers who were capturing and enslaving Europeans and Americans on the high seas. Nor does the Times mention the free Americans of African descent such as Anthony Johnson, who arrived in Virginia in 1621 as an indentured servant. He became the colony’s first legal slave owner after a lawsuit in which the court ruled he could keep his servant in servitude for life. Johnson also owned rights to a number of European indentured servants, which the Times again conveniently omits.

According to the paper, everything including traffic in Atlanta was supposedly caused by this slavery and racism. And yet instead of “reframing,” the project rewrites history, using lies and deception. In essence, it is an elegant regurgitation of the debunked ramblings of fringe University of Houston “historian” Gerald Horne, a proud supporter of genocidal Marxist mass murderer Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, who murdered more Africans during his barbarous reign than all living white Americans (excluding abortionists) combined.

Even the Times’ own fact-checker, Leslie Harris, blew the whistle, saying that her corrections were ignored and that the central premise of the 1619 Project was wrong. “Far from being fought to preserve slavery, the Revolutionary War became a primary disrupter of slavery,” she explained in Politico, adding that most of the 13 colonies employed free and slave black Americans in the fight with the promise of securing their own freedom. “Despite my advice, the Times published the incorrect statement about the American Revolution anyway, in Hannah-Jones’ introductory essay.” The paper also mischaracterized slavery in early America, she added.

The central element of the 1619 Project is the claim that “ant-black racism,” slavery, systemic oppression, and other evils are embedded “in the very DNA” of America. Of course, if America’s very DNA is evil, there can be no change in policy and no possible transformation that would make the nation redeemable. In short, under the view put forth by the Times and its project, the only possible conclusion is that America must die so that something new can replace it. That is the objective. The free-market system is painted as responsible for slavery, too. Because the narrative is based on easily disproven lies, though, a simple dose of truth can neutralize the poison — and that is already happening.

Even the first sentence of the headline of the first essay in the project contains multiple factual errors: “Our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written,” it says. Of course, America is not and never has been a democracy. If Hannah-Jones had bothered studying any American history, she could have read The Federalist, #10, by James Madison, the Father of the Constitution (and an enemy of slavery), to understand why he rejected democracy as a terrible form of government, and chose to create a republic instead. Instead, the project blasts the “decidedly undemocratic Constitution,” as if that were a bad thing. Also, the notion that America’s founding ideals are false implies that all men are not created equal, a self-evidently racist and ridiculous statement.

The second sentence of the 1619 Project’s opening essay title is deceptive, too. “Black Americans have fought to make them true.” Of course, Americans of all skin tones struggled in the fight, with hundreds of thousands of European-descent Americans dying in the Civil War that freed the slaves in the South. Instead of recognizing that, the racist Project demonizes “white Americans” for their supposed collective “sin” of slavery, while falsely suggesting that black Americans have been left on their own to struggle for freedom against evil “white Americans.”

Everything was going great for the Times’ false narrative, for a while. Copies of the magazine were flying off the news stands. A podcast and a school curriculum were launched to spread the propaganda further. Times’ writer Hannah-Jones, the creator of the project, even joined the paper’s disgraced Soviet propagandist Walter Duranty, who covered up a genocide for Stalin, in getting a Pulitzer Prize for publishing lies. Apparently peddling obvious and deadly communist propaganda for the Times has its benefits!

The current riots and movement to erase America’s history are exactly in line with the New York Times’ “1619 Project,” which argues that America was rotten at its beginning and that slavery and systemic racism are the roots of everything from capitalism to our lack of universal health care. The resulting riots, theft, destruction, and general devastation to several major cities in the U.S. is something Hannah-Jones is proud of, responding that “it would be an honor” when a pundit commented that the rioting in 2020 should be named the “1619 Riots“.

Fortunately for America, however, the entire scandal surrounding the fake history caused parents and taxpayers everywhere — and even the President of the United States — to take a much closer look at what was being taught in government schools more broadly. Trump threatened to withhold federal funding from public schools that teach it, sparking a national conversation and ultimately announced the 1776 Commission. He identified indoctrination in public schools as the reason for the mayhem in the streets. As parents realize that their children are being strategically brainwashed with fake history as part of a plot by powerful forces to destroy America and her liberties, the repercussions and the coming backlash are likely to be even more serious.

The work has been roundly criticized, including by prominent historians James Oakes of the City University of New York, Gordon S. Wood of Brown University, Victoria Bynum of Texas State University, James McPherson of Princeton University, Oxford historian Richard Carwardine, and Sean Wilentz of Princeton University.

The whole narrative promptly crumbled. In a letter to the Times, this coalition of historians specializing in U.S. history, U.S. independence, and the Civil War demanded “prominent corrections” of “all the errors and distortions” contained in the 1619 Project. “These errors, which concern major events, cannot be described as interpretation or ‘framing,’” wrote the group brought together by Princeton historian Sean Wilentz. “They are matters of verifiable fact, which are the foundation of both honest scholarship and honest journalism.

Historian Leslie M. Harris has also criticized the project. Harris was one of the historians who was consulted by the Times during development of the 1619 Project. She wrote in Politico that despite her warnings as to the historical inaccuracy of the idea that the 13 colonies went to war to protect slavery, that the Times was more interested in its narrative than it was with the facts, so it ran with the story anyways. Another scholarly rebuke was from Princeton historian Allen Guelzo, who criticizes the misrepresentative 1619 Project, finding that it presents:

“slavery not as a blemish that the Founders grudgingly tolerated with the understanding that it must soon evaporate, but as the prize that the Constitution went out of its way to secure and protect. The Times presents slavery not as a regrettable chapter in the distant past, but as the living, breathing pattern upon which all American social life is based, world without end.” “The 1619 Project is not history: it is polemic, born in the imaginations of those whose primary target is capitalism itself and who hope to tarnish capitalism by associating it with slavery.”

Although multiple top historians pointed out glaring factual inaccuracies within days of its launch, their concerns were largely ignored by the NYT, except for one response from editor Josh Silverstein who essentially dismissed a letter sent by five of the historians mentioned above (professors Wilentz, McPherson, Oakes, Wood and Bynum). The letter, in part, pointed out factual errors and misleading commentary, and stated that every statement offered by the project to validate its allegation that the founders declared the colonies’ independence of Britain in order to ensure slavery would continue, was false. Historian Gordon Wood sent a follow-up letter to NYT editor Silverstein, with permission to publish it, but which never was.

The enormity of the errors and the refusal to correct the record “suggest a displacement of historical understanding by ideology,” the historians continued. Indeed, even the most important points in the narrative are blatantly false, with no historical evidence to support them. The central narrative is that practically everything in American history, including the decision to declare independence, revolved around slavery. But that is so obviously phony, historians could not identify even a single piece of anecdotal evidence to support the charges. And that is just the mild criticism from liberals. Conservatives largely blasted it as racist, pseudo-historical propaganda, with one critic even referring to it as neo-confederate drivel.

In an email to the Daily Caller, James Oakes of the City University of New York affirmed that the NYT “has not addressed our many citations of factual errors even after the letter was sent,” and stated that “I am particularly distressed by Matt Desmond’s essay. It is based on a body of scholarship that has been subjected to severe criticism by experts in the field.. from mainstream economists to Marxist sociologists.” Desmond is a Princeton University sociologist who asserts that slavery is the foundation of capitalism, and that almost every modern business has flowed from it.2

Even a September 2019 essay for the World Socialist Web Site called the project a “racialist falsification” of history. That didn’t get much attention, but in November the interviews with the historians went viral. “I wish my books would have this kind of reaction,” Mr. Gordon Wood, the Pulitzer Prize-winning historian of the American Revolution, says in an email. “It still strikes me as amazing why the NY Times would put its authority behind a project that has such weak scholarly support.” He adds that it is ‘So wrong in so many ways‘ and that fellow historians have privately expressed their agreement. Mr. James McPherson, dean of Civil War historians and another Pulitzer winner, coolly describes the project’s “implicit position that there have never been any good white people, thereby ignoring white radicals and even liberals who have supported racial equality.

The radical left WSWS could not provide cover for the enormity of the errors, which pointed out that virtually no black sources (including Fredrick Douglass) were used for the 1619 Project.

Carwardine noted that the drive for immediate abolition of slavery owed much to “evangelical Protestant fervor,” and that the movement was “largely white,” discrediting another central elements of the project. “This urgent thrust towards immediate emancipation surely poses a problem for those who see racial hostility as the ineradicable DNA of white America,” the Oxford historian of America continued, adding that many white Christians were killed and were prepared to be martyred for their biblical acknowledgment of the reality that dark-skinned people were created equal and in the image of God and therefore should be liberated immediately.

In an interview with the far-left Atlantic magazine, anti-Trump activist and Princeton historian Wilentz actually expresses sympathy and support for the goals of the 1619 Project, but blasts the obvious factual errors. “To teach children that the American Revolution was fought in part to secure slavery would be giving a fundamental misunderstanding not only of what the American Revolution was all about but what America stood for and has stood for since the Founding,” Wilentz explained, adding that opposition to slavery was a “very new thing in the world in the 18th century.” Discrediting the 1619 Project’s central thesis even further, Wilentz noted “there was more anti-slavery activity in the colonies than in Britain.”

Of course, one does not need to rely on modern-day historians to understand that Hannah-Jones could not be more wrong. America’s Founding Fathers left a long list of writings in which they denounced slavery as an affront to God, human dignity, and liberty. Dr. John York at the Heritage Foundation compiled a sizable list of documented quotes proving it. “There is not a man living who wishes more sincerely than I do, to see a plan adopted for the abolition of [slavery],” explained George Washington, the father of American, in a 1786 letter posted online from the government’s own archives. He eventually provided for his slaves to be freed and even cared for from his estate. Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Madison, Hamilton, Mason, Jay, and plenty more made similar statements.

The project has likewise received criticism among several politicians. Newt Gingrich called 1619 a ‘lie’, and compared the work to “brainwashing”.

Though the globalist puppet would likely take a different stance today, in 1975 the future Democratic Vice President and 2020 presidential nominee Joe Biden stated,

“I don’t feel responsible for the sins of my father and grandfather. I feel responsible for what the situation is today, for the sins of my own generation, and I’ll be damned if I feel responsible to pay for what happened 300 years ago.”

“The ‘1619 Project’ desperately wants to pass itself off as legitimate history, but it totally kneecaps itself by ignoring so much of the American story. There’s no mention of any black Americans who succeeded in spite of slavery, due to the free market capitalist system. In the 1619 Project’s effort to take down America, black success stories are not allowed. Because they don’t fit with the narrative. The role of white Americans in abolishing slavery doesn’t fit the narrative either,” Glenn Beck said in his video report The 1619 Project Exposed: The Agenda to Tear Down America. “The agenda is not ultimately about history,” he added. “It’s just yet another vehicle in the fleet now driven by elites in America toward socialism.”

America was founded on the idea that all men are created equal, a principle that led to it becoming one of the first societies in all of human history to abolish slavery. But instead, the United States is portrayed as a uniquely evil nation. In fact, under the false history of the 1619 Project, America is defined almost exclusively by its temporary tolerance of an institution that has been ubiquitous literally since the dawn of humanity. Instead of celebrating this incredible history of human progress and expanded respect for God-given liberties, the racist project erases it and replaces it with a deadly fraud.

In response to the outrageous narrative in 1619, black Americans who value truth came together behind the “1776 Unites” Initiative as an “inspirational alternative” to fight back against the anti-American slander sold by the Times. Led by Bob Woodson, the effort is dealing a devastating blow to the racist agenda of the 1619 Project, even offering a pro-America, pro-truth curriculum that can be used to teach history in high schools. The goal: “let millions of young people know about these incredible stories, African-Americans past and present, innovative, inventive, who faced adversity, did not view themselves as victims, and chose pathways to be agents of their own uplift.

What 1619 postures is that all of the problems facing inner-city blacks are attributed to factors that are external to that community,” Woodson said, blasting “self-flagelating guilty white people” and “angry, rich blacks” as the source of so many problems. “Explain to me how institutional racism could cause black people to fail in systems run by their own people. Tell me how that works! Nothing is more lethal to a people than to covey to them that it’s impossible for them to be agents of their own uplift.

Federal officials also fought back. U.S. Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) introduced a bill to block federal funds to any schools using the 1619 propaganda, which he blasted as “a racially divisive, revisionist account of history that denies the noble principles of freedom and equality on which our nation was founded.” President Donald Trump, who blamed government-school indoctrination for the riots in the streets, announced the 1776 Commission to combat the propaganda.

Fortunately for history and America, the indoctrination of children has become a high priority for the Trump administration and other leaders. Indeed, as President Trump explained in his 2020 Independence Day speech at Mount Rushmore, the sort of dangerous propaganda in the 1619 Project is responsible for the ongoing demolition of society. “The violent mayhem we have seen in the streets of cities that are run by liberal Democrats, in every case, is the predictable result of years of extreme indoctrination and bias in education, journalism, and other cultural institutions,” he said. “Against every law of society and nature, our children are taught in school to hate their own country, and to believe that the men and women who built it were not heroes, but that they were villains.

Talk-radio king Rush Limbaugh has also taken aim at the indoctrination, warning that “left-wing activists disguised as teachers” were “poisoning” America’s children “with hatred and vile racism.” Last year, he even urged parents to get their children out of public schools. Responding to the LGBT “history” indoctrination mandates passed in New Jersey, evangelical leader Franklin Graham also warned parents that it was time to get their children out of government schools.

Even left-wing historians and educators are sounding the alarm about what is happening in America’s classrooms. In his new book How to Educate a Citizen, Emeritus Professor at the University of Virginia E.D. Hirsch highlighted the implications. “Intellectual error has become a threat to the well-being of the nation. A truly massive tragedy is building,” he warned, adding that public schools were now “diminishing our national unity and our basic competence.” “The culture is up for grabs, and elementary schools are the culture makers,” he continued.

The idea that identity and ethnicity are inborn and indelible from birth is a false view that leads to group hostility,” Hirsch continued, calling on schools to teach true history and help create a united American culture so that children can embrace their identity as Americans rather than competing and warring factions. “The idea that there can be an American culture that everyone joins seems to be anathema to some academic thinkers. But I can’t believe it’s anathema to any normal person in the country who isn’t some social theorist.

Instead, the 1619 Project joins communist propagandist Howard Zinn’s fake history as yet another tool for government schools to poison the minds of children and divide them from their nation and their incredible heritage. It also comes amid escalating Marxist indoctrination under the guise of “Black Lives Matter” propaganda, which has infiltrated government schools all across America. That has occurred even as the founders of the movement admit publicly that they are “trained Marxists” and that they are consulting with “ancestor spirits.” Combined with “Critical Race Theory,” “white privilege,” “intersectionality,” and hatred of America, Christianity, the nuclear family, and more, it is all a recipe for national and civilization suicide.

Of course, it is true that individuals of African heritage have been dehumanized by some individuals of European heritage. And there is nothing wrong with talking about that — in fact, it is important, and offers valuable lessons. And yet, in the entire screed against “white Americans” that is the opening of the 1619 Project, Hannah-Jones never once mentions Charles Darwin. His racist ramblings on the “favoured races” included the idea that “the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world.” He also claimed that differences between gorillas and darker skinned people from Africa or Australia were small, but that once allegedly superior Europeans wiped them out, the gulf would be huge. These deranged ideas inspired Nazism, Marxism, eugenics, and many other mass-murdering movements. And yet Darwin is held up to children as a hero.

Racist Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, who believed in eugenics to improve the human race by eliminating people she considered “human weeds” from the gene pool, is also given a pass in the 1619 Project. No mention is made of her “Negro Project” to reduce the population of blacks. Today, the institution she created has slaughtered millions of black babies, and the death toll continues to grow daily. Nor are Times readers informed about her frequent appeals to the KKK and other white supremacist groups in the quest to reduce minority numbers. In other words, the fake anti-racist propaganda peddled by the Times ignores the real racists while demonizing those who laid the foundation for equality and liberty worldwide.

Ironically, the real racism of today is oozing out of the Times. In 2018, for instance, the paper hired virulent racist Sarah Jeong to serve on its editorial board. Among other outrages, Jeong admitted it was “kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.” She also argued that “white people” are “only fit to live underground like groveling goblins.” The raw, seething hatred shocked America, but the Times saw no problem with it. The paper has also been described by one of its former reporters as the establishment’s propaganda “megaphone” to sell foreign wars to Americans, primarily against “black” and “brown” people. Another liberal editor recently left, too, blasting her former employer for hostility to truth and honesty.

Hannah-Jones has also been exposed as a virulent racist herself. In a letter to the editor published in 1995, she described whites as “savages” and “bloodsuckers,” adding that “the white race is the biggest murderer, rapist, pillager, and thief of the modern world.” Claiming Columbus was no different from Hitler, she said the collective crimes of “Europeans” were “unnecessarily cruel and can only be described as acts of the devil.” Of course, holding an entire “race” responsible for the real and imagined crimes of some individuals who share the same skin tone is the very essence of racism.

Also ironically, many of the arguments made by Hannah-Jones are exactly the same as those made by supporters of slavery such as John Calhoun. For instance, the 1619 Project falsely claims that the statement “all men are created equal” in the Declaration of Independence only applied to those of European ancestry. This is literally the exact same claim made by Calhoun. And yet, even the briefest review of the Founding Fathers’ writings show that it is false. All Hannah-Jones has been able to do is hurl silly accusations of “racism” and being “white” at her critics. A minor correction was grudgingly made by the Times as an “update.” But the grotesque arguments used by defenders of slavery are still being peddled to children and adults.

Hannah-Jones also fails to mention several indisputable facts that completely contradict her racism narrative. For instance, immigrants to America from Nigeria tend to do better than European-descent Americans born in America. How could this be possible if America is a white supremacist society designed to keep blacks down where “anti-black racism” is in the nation’s “very DNA”? Nor does Hannah-Jones reveal that there are more black people today in America who immigrated voluntarily than were brought over as slaves after being purchased from other Africans. Why does she not mention those facts? Because it would discredit the entire premise of the 1619 Project, of course.

For her dishonesty, Hannah-Jones even received a Pulitzer Prize. But this is not the first time. Times’ Moscow correspondent Walter Duranty parroted Stalin’s obviously false propaganda to American audiences, even hiding the Soviet genocide in Ukraine that starved an estimated 10 million people to death. In 1933, he quipped about the ghoulish extermination, which he continued to deny, that “you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.” For those lies, he, too, received a Pulitzer. More recently, Times propagandist Herbert Matthews convinced Americans that Castro was the “George Washington” of Cuba, even as sensible Americans and even the U.S. ambassador to Havana were warning that he was a communist. That deception resulted in Cuba being enslaved unto this day.

The reality of America is practically the opposite of the depiction created by the Times and Hannah-Jones. True history reveals that America is a unique and special nation in world history, among the first to be founded on the biblical principles. This solid foundation would lead directly to the creation of the first major self-governing, godly republic since ancient Israel. And eventually, this amazing heritage would lead to the ending of legal slavery less than a century after independence. Ultimately, the then-revolutionary ideas America’s Founding Fathers enshrined in the Declaration of Independence — the “self-evident” truth that “all men are created equal” — would spread liberty worldwide.

Like virtually every society throughout all of human history, it is true that some Americans originally tolerated slavery. However, it was because of America’s unique and incredible founding, and the biblical principles and worldview upon which it was founded, that the ubiquitous scourge of slavery was practically eradicated from the face of the Earth. That process began in the Christian West and then slowly spread around the globe. It took until 2007 for some African nations to criminalize slavery, and the institution is still widely practiced on the continent. But thanks to the example set by Western Christians, it is slowly dying.

The 1619 Project, then, represents a case study in flipping history upside down for Marxist purposes. As George Orwell explained, those who control the past through the teaching of history in the present will control the future. The goal of those behind the Times’ deception is to destroy America and everything it represents — especially human liberty. After all, racism is supposedly in the “DNA” of the nation. It is bad enough that paying adults are swallowing this ludicrous propaganda. To teach this hatred and false history to children should be viewed as a crime. It must be opposed. And after the 1619 Project is removed, a full-scale investigation into the poison being fed to children nationwide should ensure. America’s survival depends on getting history right.

Wallbuilders debunks the 1619 Project:

The 1619 Project Exposed by American Mind: In Part 1 of this special edition of the American Mind podcast, we explore the intellectual roots, political and societal implications of and the antidote to what the Claremont Institute believes is the great threat to America: multiculturalism. The podcast features Claremont Institute President Ryan Williams, Chairman Tom Klingenstein and scholars Lucas Morel and Chris Flannery, as well as the likes of Newt Gingrich, Allen Guelzo, Heather Mac Donald, Wilfred McClay, and Peter Wood. It is narrated by James Poulos, Executive Editor of the American Mind and produced by ChangeUp Media.

Naked Communist, The

A book by Cleon Skousen that has sold more than a million copies and found its way into the libraries of the CIA, the FBI, the White House, and homes all across America. The book contains a distillation of more than a hundred books and treatises on communism, many written by Marxist authors. We see the communist the way he sees himself—stripped of propaganda and pretense. Explained here is the amazing appeal of communism, its history, and its basic and unchanging concepts—even its secret timetable of conquest.

Cleon Skousen was an FBI agent, and an adviser to presidents and universities about the dangers of Communist infiltration into our institutions. He lectured in every state in North America and over 60 countries. He was a scholar of law and history and specialized in the U.S. Constitution. In his book he reveals how communists pacifically take control of a nation with progressive engineering.

He warned:

“Communists possess the fortitude and knowledge to slowly reengineer society.”

This book has been called “the most powerful book on communism since J. Edgar Hoover’s ‘Masters of Deceit’.” In one clarifying and readable volume, the whole incredible story of communism is graphically told. It includes the tragic story of China, Korea, Russia, the UN, Alger Hiss, Whittaker Chambers, Elizabeth Bentley, General MacArthur, and others. In 1961, Skousen added the 45 goals of communism. Today, all but one of those goals is fulfilled.

Critics considered Skousen a radical whose theories were extreme since he used analogies and hypotheticals to exemplify how communists and socialists work. Yet this was necessary at a time few Americans realized how they had infiltrated our nation. He illustrates how they maneuver their way into society through the youth of a nation with socialism, which is the precursor to communism. When society one day realizes “how it is now”, is not “how it was” back then, and how it “will be in the future” there is no turning back because their youth will now consider totalitarianism status quo.

His insightful rendering unveils the deceptive nature of communism. It contains a quintessence of over a hundred treatises on socialism and communism written by Marx, Lenin and other socialists. He details how communists and socialists strategically infiltrate an existing political party to achieve their objectives and spread propaganda through spoon-fed information to the media. This was the first time anyone defined how people in capitalist nations are persuaded to choose communism or socialism at the expense of their liberty and freedom.

Skousen shocked America and the rest of the free world, pointing out how easily this is done while few people are aware it is happening to them. Written in 1958, some of the “current strategy goals which the Communists and their fellow travelers are seeking to achieve” seem dated and read like a history book from the past.

The book depicts the geopolitical strategy of the Marxist–Leninist Soviets’ plan to take control of all governments outside of the Communist Bloc. With the Cold War raging, this book filled an urgent need to explain modern totalitarianism. People learned the tactics communists and socialists use in political parties, unions and patriotic organizations to gain political and social influence in a society. They assume key leadership roles and slowly introduce anti-democratic dogma and leftist ideology.

Skousen claimed history is proof communists and socialists stick to their tried and true basic and successful tactics within set time-tables to reach their goals. He pointed out that they had already invaded mainstream media and were weakening our nation with passive acceptance of socialism and communism. A key stratagem is to destroy the family to impair the bonding unity that creates and molds character and morality. This will also diminish their interest in Judeo-Christian religions.

His penetrating look into geopolitical future contained 45 communist goals to turn capitalism into a communist-socialist state. We can safely say 40 of them have been achieved in America under the guise of liberalism. Jimmy Carter handed them education when he created the Department of Education in 1979. Now progressives use public schools to indoctrinate our youth with Common Core teaching materials.

“It is essential that we educate the educator so we control how they educate others.” – Karl Marx

Communist goal #17, as listed in the book:

“Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.” (Emphasis added.)

That part in bold especially catches ones attention. Haven’t Americans been suspicious for years that public school curriculum has been dumbed down? Prominent public figures have certainly made this claim, while a comparison of middle school reading lists from today’s schools and those of 100 years ago provides further evidence.

Things take a step closer to home by encouraging the use of “student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.” We’ve had not a little experience with riots and protests lately, many of which have been heavily attended by young people. Are they mere tools in the hands of an ideology we don’t realize is pulling the strings?

Even more terrifying, the list progresses from student riots to the cancel culture and statue bashing we are also currently experiencing.

“Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression,” item number 22 commands, while number 31 calls for Communists to “[b]elittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history….”

The document also suggests discrediting both the Constitution and the Founding Fathers.

Of the latter, it says,

“[p]resent them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the ‘common man.’”

Sounds similar to the “slave-holding racists” that the Founders are now portrayed as, does it not?

The list is extensive and many of the items listed as eventual goals are now accepted parts of our culture. There is one more, though, that deserves a closer look:

“Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ‘united force’ to solve economic, political or social problems.”

Since the death of George Floyd in 2020, protests and violence have become commonplace. The large gatherings banned by our governments during the COVID-19 pandemic suddenly became necessary for fighting racism.

Indeed, systemic racism is increasingly labeled as a “public health crisis that Black Lives Matter must wage war against. Furthermore, complete unity is demanded from the public. Those who refuse to go along—or fail to say anything at all—are immediately ostracized.

Where does this leave us?

Should we start running around screaming, “The Communists are coming! The Communists are coming!”?

No. Now isn’t the time to lose our heads. Rather, we should look at this historical list, recognize the parallels it has with our current culture, and ask ourselves whether there’s an ideology working to undermine the values, history, and ideas upon which America was founded.

If we conclude that there is, we have a decision to make.

Do we accept that ideology and allow it to take over America?

If so, it’s time to join the throngs of corporations, politicians, and average citizens in agitating for change.

But if we decide that ideology isn’t in line with what we believe, nor with the direction we want to see America go, then we must be ready to choose the road less traveled.

This road is one of standing up for truth and justice. It also involves warning others of the consequences that come from giving way to an ideology completely opposed to what America has sought to protect and advance over the years.

As “The Naked Communist” implies, the alarm bell has been sounding for many years. Now, we just need the ears to hear and respond to it.

Under Obama’s extensive government social engineering, federalists control our healthcare and support a large underclass. Parents today surrender their siblings to government approved pre-K education. This has dramatically affected family bonding and moral development with our youth. It has limited the augmentation of their Judeo-Christian faith education at home and in schools. As a result of this, fewer young Americans attend weekly family church services than at any time in history.

Cleon Skousen wrote, “A communist’s most vital tool is the media.” Socialists invaded our news rooms during the Cold War to spread acceptance of communism and have moved public opinion to the left since. They skew news on elections to elect leftists and excoriate conservative politicians. They pre-sold Barack Obama and facilitated his re-engineering of our socio-economic architecture. They have done everything in their power to destroy the successful presidency of Donald Trump.”

Whether Cleon Skousen was an insightful political analyst or psychic clairvoyant, his message was perspicacious. He critiqued the formula communists and socialists use to take control of a nation. It’s daunting to see how many of their goals are etched in the U.S. today.

Goal 15 was to “Capture a political party.” We need not look any further than the presidency of Barack Obama and the rise of socialism within the Democratic Party today to validate Cleon Skousen’s warnings 60 years ago. He told us this will happen in America if we fall asleep at the wheel as guardians of our democracy.

Marx told us, “Theory is capable of gripping the masses as soon as it demonstrates ad hominem, and it demonstrates ad hominem as soon as it becomes radical.” This is what the liberal controlled media has done to our political environment, and we have bought into this without cognition. We’ve taken their bait, hook, line and sinker. And now they are ready to finish the job next election.

“We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can feed them small doses of socialism, until they awake to find they have true communism.” – Nikita Khrushchev

Among the many other questions it answers are:

  • Who gave America’s nuclear secrets to the Russians?
  • How did the FBI fight the battle of the underground?
  • Why did the West lose 600 million allies after World War II?
  • What really happened in Korea?
  • What is communism’s great secret weapon?
  • Is there an answer to communism?
  • What lies ahead?
  • What can I do to stop communism?

This may be the most important question of all that this book answers is how to stop communism and how to do it without a major war. National broadcaster Paul Harvey at CBS said, “I have never given any volume such an unqualified endorsement.”

No one is better qualified to discuss the threat to this nation from communism. You will be alarmed, you will be informed and you’ll be glad you heard him (W. Cleon Skousen). — President Ronald Reagan, United States President

“I went back and I read ‘The Naked Communist’ and at the end of that Skousen predicted [that] someday soon you won’t be able to find the truth in schools or in libraries or anywhere else because it won’t be in print anymore. So you must collect those books. It’s an idea I read from Cleon Skousen from his book in the 1950s, ‘The Naked Communist,’ and where he talked about someday the history of this country’s going to be lost because it’s going to be hijacked by intellectuals and communists and everything else. And I think we’re there. — Glenn Beck, Host of the nationally syndicated “Glenn Beck Radio Program”

“The Naked Communist lays out the whole progressive plan. It is UNBELIEVABLE how fast it has been achievable.” — Dr. Ben Carson, The Sean Hannity Show, May 23, 2014

“I feel certain that your efforts on this important subject (communism) will receive widespread attention and consideration.”
–J. Edgar Hoover, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation

“We believe in a moral code. Communism denies innate right or wrong. As W. Cleon Skousen has said in his timely book, The Naked Communist: The communist ‘has convinced himself that nothing is evil which answers the call of expediency.’ This is a most damnable doctrine. People who truly accept such a philosophy have neither conscience nor honor. Force, trickery, lies, broken promises are wholly justified.” — Ezra Taft Benson, United States Secretary of Agriculture under President Eisenhower

Confucius Institutes

Part of a propaganda program that began in 2009, underwritten by China’s communist government, that’s now found in “more than 100 elementary, middle, and high schools located in 27 states and the District of Columbia”, resulting in young students being instilled with a pro-China, pro-Communist worldview. The New American reported on the presence of China-sponsored Confucius Institutes on college campuses (to a partnership between Confucius Institutes and the Asia Society) and the fact that only 30 percent of U.S. universities to host these programs have disclosed the funding they have received from Beijing, which in some cases has approached $250,000 in one year.

According to the Washington Free Beacon’s review of federal records, only 30 percent of colleges that host or have hosted Chinese-financed Confucius Institutes have disclosed their financial ties to Beijing. After reaching out to all 75 institutions that have not reported the funding to the Department of Education, the Free Beacon received replies from only 22. One of the most prevalent responses was that the universities refrained from disclosing the donations because their annual receipts fell below the $250,000 threshold. In one example, a representative from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville said the college felt it did not have to file a report for 2019 Confucius Institute funding because those donations totaled $246,711 — more than $3,000 short of the threshold.

Some policy and education experts fear the Confucius Institutes could serve as a way for China’s government to gain control of American campuses while indoctrinating students with a slanted version of history that favors the Chinese Communist Party. In fact, federal and Senate investigations have found that the Chinese regime itself hires the instructors for the program and forbids them from telling students anything negative about China.

“The Chinese Communist Party doesn’t need to seek the consent of the governed,” says Mike Gonzalez, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation. “And [they] are very used to — within the context of China — being able to censor debate. They want to do the same thing in the United States through different means, and the Confucius Institutes are one of the ways in which it does it.”

The Chinese government nearly always pays the universities that host Confucius Institutes, though some exceptions do exist. According to a 2019 report by the Congressional Research Service, Hanban — a public institution aligned with the Chinese Ministry of Education — usually gives colleges a $150,000 start-up fund, along with $100,000 to $200,000 per year to cover operation costs.

Colleges have retroactively disclosed $6.5 billion in previously unreported foreign funding from Chinese and Middle Eastern sources, according to a department letter to House Republicans. Six universities, including the University of Nebraska and West Virginia University, disclosed almost $3 million in previously unreported Confucius Institute funding in the most recent foreign gift and contract report.

The FBI and Justice Department have stated that Confucius Institutes are replete with Chinese state propaganda, intellectual property theft, and “undisclosed ties to Chinese institutions, and conflicted loyalties.” According to its website, the Asia Society’s mission is “preparing Asians and Americans for a shared future.” The organization was founded by the late John D. Rockefeller III of the globalist Rockefeller clan and has been praised by former communist Chinese president Hu Jintao.

The Asia Society notes that the Confucius classrooms program has been “established with the support of an Expert Advisory Committee” that includes Communist Party of China officials from the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the Chinese Consulate General in New York. The program is also advised by top officials from Chinese universities such as East China Normal University, Renmin University, and Wuhan University, which have records of cyber-espionage and intellectual property theft.

A number of U.S. government officials also participate in the program, including Jennifer Gibson of the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Rebecca Richey of the Department of Education, and Gregg Roberts of the Utah Department of Education.

Two American Confucius Classrooms programs were even honored during the Asia Society’s Confucius Institute World Conference in Shanghai in 2015, as the Asia Society mentions on its website:

The International School of Tucson in Arizona and Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Massachusetts, both members of Asia Society’s Confucius Classrooms Network, have been named Hanban Confucius Classrooms of the Year for excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum, cultural richness, community engagement, and extracurricular activities.

Additionally, Hanban hosts a yearly Chinese Bridge for American Principals Conference at its headquarters in China. The group noted that the 2019 conference was attended by “172 educational officials and principals from mainstream primary and secondary schools from Washington, D.C and other 28 American states upon invitation.”

The National Pulse revealed that at a Confucius program at a K-6 school in Utah, the instructor had students write letters to Chinese president Xi Jinping and showed them Chinese military parades, causing the children to develop a liking for the communist regime.

A broader Chinese language initiative in Utah has led to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) military parades being shown to children in public schools, with teacher Zheng Yamin declaring: “Behind the language is the culture. When we learn Chinese, we are also learning Chinese culture, Chinese morality and values….

“…On National Day of China last year, the children watched a grand military parade with me,” she added. “They thought President Xi Jinping was cool. Later, when they saw President Xi Jinping delivering the New Year’s speech, they thought President Xi Jinping was very kind.”

It isn’t just propaganda China is pumping into America. Customs and Border Protection officers in Louisville, Kentucky, recently seized 11,000 illegal firearms — valued at nearly $130,000 — that originated from Shenzen, China, and was intended for a residence in Melbourne, Florida.

This comes as the Wall Street Journal has reported on illegal firearms appearing around Black Lives Matter events in Louisville. Then there’s also the fentanyl China ships to the United States, fueling the opioid crisis that claims nearly 50,000 lives a year. Yet while China continues to try to subvert America’s safety and sovereignty, the United States has allowed itself to become dependent on the communist state for a number of essential goods, including medicine and its ingredients.

President Trump rightly identified China as one of America’s top geopolitical threats. But so long as the political establishment fights tooth and nail to preserve the status quo, China will continue to rise while the United States declines. The Chinese infiltration of American schools has been a growing concern. The Trump administration launched an investigation of Harvard and Yale for their foreign funding. The White House maintains that Yale has not reported, at minimum, $375 million in foreign funding after failing to file reports for three years from 2014-2017.

Washington, Booker T.

(1856-1915) was the most important political and educational leader of the African-American community 1890-1915. He was the most important black leader of the Progressive Era, and his dedication to efficiency set the goals for the black community. He is most famous for his autobiography, Up from Slavery, his leadership of black conservative business and religious leaders, his founding of the Tuskegee Institute, and his emphasis on self-help and education as the cure for poverty and the second class status of blacks in America.

His “Atlanta Exposition” speech of 1895 appealed to middle class whites across the South, asking them to give blacks a chance to work and develop separately, while implicitly accepting Jim Crow and promising not to demand the vote. White leaders across the North, from politicians to industrialists, from philanthropists to churchmen, enthusiastically supported Washington, as did most middle class blacks and some white Southern leaders. Washington built a personal organization, over which he exerted very tight control, that linked like-minded black leaders throughout the nation and in effect spoke for Black America and worked behind the scenes to lessen the impact of segregation. His network fell apart after his death. Meanwhile, a more militant northern group, led by W.E.B. DuBois and the NAACP rejected Washington’s self-help and demanded political activism, referring to the speech dismissively as “The Atlanta Compromise”. The critics were marginalized until the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, at which point more radical black leaders rejected Washington’s philosophy and demanded federal civil rights laws.

Washington is held in high regard by conservatives, both white and black. As C. Vann Woodward concluded, “The businessman’s gospel of free enterprise, competition, and laissez faire never had a more loyal exponent.Read more at Conservapedia…
